SPINDiViDUAL ARTISTS FAQ's:

Will Spindividual prevent me from selling my music other ways, like on iTunes?

Of course not. Spindividual is EXPLICITLY NON-EXCLUSIVE. We want you to get all the compensation you deserve, from whatever source. Getting on board Spindividual does not prevent you from selling your music or distributing it any other way.

I've had some label interest and am hoping to sign at some point in the not-too-distant future. Will Spindividual make that harder for me?

It shouldn't. As you will see in the Spindividual Artist Agreement, you can terminate your relationship with us at any time, for any reason. No questions. All we require is that you let us know. It's that simple. In fact, we hope that being a part in Spindividual will help you get signed to a label, if that's your aim - as we hope that Spindividual will broaden your fan base by giving you "shelf space" at an unsigned independent artist boutique on the internet.

How much do I get paid for my music?

Our standard pricing is $9.99 per album and 99 cents per song, of which you take home $7.49 for an album or $74 cents for a song. OR, you can choose to sell your music at a different price, so long as it's more than the $2.50 per album or 25 cents per song that goes to cover the cost of using Bitpass, our credit card transaction processor, and our operating costs. That way, if you think you'll get better exposure by selling your songs for 50 cents (from which you would take home 25 cents per song), you're more than welcome to do that.

What do I have to do to sell my music on Spindividual?

Just contact us and let us know you're interested. We'll check out your music and then if it seems like a good fit, we'll send you our Artist Agreement for you to review and sign. Once we get that, along with a hard copy of the tracks you want to sell and any artwork/bio information you want to put up, we'll be all set, and you'll be ready to receive your due.

When do I get paid?

You will receive any revenue you are owed for the sale of your music at the end of the month following the month in which it was sold. For example, you would be paid at the end of March for any sales of your music in February.

Why should I sign up for Spindividual?

How much time do you have? We could give you a litany of reasons, but we'll keep it to the few most important. First, if you sell your music on Spindividual, you will get more revenue than you would under other arrangements. Second, you will get access to consumers interested in quality independent music. Third, there is NO DOWN SIDE - we're not putting you through any music industry ritual of smoke and mirrors; you get what you see - and what you see is what you get. Finally, you should get on board Spindividual because our interests are aligned with yours - we're all musicians, we all love good independent music, and we all want to do our best to help musicians get where they want to go and earn what they deserve. Need more reasons or have any further questions - just ask us, we're here to serve you.
